Giro d'Italia 2013

Nibs had an inspiring Giro but I have to say that I am really impressed with the young Betancur

I read he had a mechanical at the foot of the final climb and had to catch up with the race leaders.

He's a talent for sure.

I was sceptical after reading about Evans' problems but watching highlights it seems like he is pushing too big a gear and therefore battled. Maybe he wasn't able to select the right gear?

Apparently, he couldn't get his favorite climbing gear... Snow stuck in the cluster or something.

Was he the only one riding in snow? I think he should stop blaming mechanicals as they all were in the same boat, the others was just clever enough to shift more often to keep the snow from forming on the casette.

He should probably start thinking long and hard about how he wants to exit the sport. He does not want to pull a Danie Gerber on himself.........

Whenever I see the lad, for some reason I have an urge to reach for a pair of scissors :whistling: .

But he's still my boy

Fully agree with Betancur comments, will be following his progress.

I believe BMC are making a mistake appointing Evans to lead the team at this years tour de france, TJ is in the better form. Last year Evans held TJ back.

There's a big difference between being a team leader and the pressures that come with it.

Cadel has earned one more opportunity especially after a podium at the Giro.

He is the 2011 TdF yellow winner after all.

TJ will slot in next year, I reckon.

He still has some maturing to do.

Quick observation - watching the Giro I noticed that the cyclist dont "sign/indicate/warn" others in the peleton.

Are my observation skills poor or is it just not done?

The PROs owns the rear wheel of the rider in front of them.

And follow that line.

There's also the understanding that if a rider is ahead, he has 'right of way' without switching another rider.

But, generally, no sudden swerving or unexpected change of racing line is allowed.

Ya... they've spent so many hours cycling... They have reached no signal zen.

Every normal cyclist like us can only dream to achieve it! !!!
