Jaco-fiets Posted October 4, 2012 Share Coming sunday will be the marathon worlds! Guess we won't be so lucky to watch on tv? Will Suazie retain title? i see it is only over 84km. Rather short..............

Jaco-fiets Posted October 4, 2012 Share If the mechanical demons stay away i really think KNox and maybe Evans can get good results. With this i mean top 10 or
jannosmit Posted October 4, 2012 Share Suzi and Lakata both strong. Don't know about about the other marathon specialists. No Burry/Kulhavy/Naef etc, with that said I really hope our Saffa boytjies gooi. Evans schemes at least one of them can get a top 10. My money is on Max Knox. rock Posted October 7, 2012 Share i cant help get the feeling we're missing the plot a bit with marathon racing locally, we now have these ultra marathon with distances in excess of 100kms, but whenever its marathon worlds or other high profile marathon event its like 70-80kms with a heap more climbing an its often being referred to as a XCO type course with stacks of singletrack.... SwissVan Posted October 7, 2012 Share Judging by the photos i've seen on twitter it looks like it was a bit of a lottery in the mud today
SwissVan Posted October 7, 2012 Share Christoph Sauser @sauserwind4th at worlds. biggest mudfest ever. was down to 12th at one point. rear down shifting broke. well now no more world champ any more Edited October 7, 2012 by SwissVan
1kTT Posted October 9, 2012 Share I was there spectating and can confirm that the course was way harder than any one of the MTN national races in SA. There were plenty of grown racing snakes in tears. The real problem was that the conditions were so different to anything we have in SA that it was hard to translate local form into a result. Max Knox and Yolande Speedy were great though!
