Thank YOU Nancy Drew!! Was great having you with, even though it was not the entire ride! Your family were wonderful - the food and refreshments were just great and lovely to sit down afterwards and just have chat about the ride and things afterwards! Great venue - and we WILL be BACK!! Wont we guys????? whistling.gif clap.gif Till next time!!!

You're right Wayne.. I was thoroughly enjoying the company. On my way back I was wondering if everyone was going to maintain their sense of humour for the whole ride..... (you know.... knowing what was in store devil.gif )

I will definitely try to hook up with you guys again on another one of your outings thumbup1.gif

Mons, when you've had some time to recover from your ordeal, please post some pics :-)

The food really is something worth going for. Even if you don't ride, just go there and eat something :D Really good burger. That tomato and onion relish is great!!!

Again, thanks to all who came out. We had a laugh, a spill, a cramp or two and a moer of a climb to the top. Toughest ride Ive done in a long time but oh so worth it.

I would never have been able to do it without the fantastic group of friends I did it with today.

Big respect to Thug for doing it on that Karate Monkey. Beautiful bike that looks like it can deliver a hell of a punch. Was also cool riding with you at CM even if it was only for a couple of minutes. Great meeting you.

Nancy, again thank you. The venue is fantastic and thanks for joining us even if it was only for a short while. Next time we will make it a proper one.

Glad that everybody made it home safe.

I'm off to go ice my knees again. Have a great weekend all

I had a very bad crash between 1998 and 2000 during practice runs for a provincial downhill race. Came off, over the bars and landed on my feet only to fall over forward with my knee into a rock. The rock did a massive amount of damage to the ligaments. I couldn't ride for the rest of the day and I couldn't even walk.

Needless to say the foolish youngster in me strapped the knee and raced the next day. Big mistake :(

It's ok now. Just need to work more on strengthening the muscles around the knee to help support it. I found a good rhythm for the last stretch and it held up ok. A bit tender now but not too bad.

Will be ok to go ride tomorrow.
