Yip, your recovery time should be enough then.  Maybe just try taking some salt during a race, salted peanuts should work like a charm as well as fill up your tank. 

 

I have never taken the salt tablets but also neved had any cramping problems.  I do more running than cycling, and after anything longer than a half marathon I munch down one whole bag of salt and vinegar chips.  It works for me! Smile  I also regularly mix some L-Glutamine with fruit juice after a longish run.  It aids recovery, even if its all in the mind, it still helps! Wink

Anybody else tried this miracle cure before ?

 

I havent tried it, but the theory behind it makes sense I guess.

 

According to the packet on my table Rennies is basically designed to reduce acid in the system, cramps are usually caused by the bodies inability to remove lactic acid fast enough (a lactic acid build up) so it seems Rennies neutralises the lactic acid as well.

 

I think it would be fine in smaller doseages but would it not have side effects on your digestive system in that it would make your digestive tract excessively alkaline.

I hear Sodium Citrate might help as well.
