Just 4 days? My new rims have been sitting in JHB since the 15th dry.png And my CRC order has been there since the 20th. I think December is a terrible month to try and import anything. Customs guys are probably on leave the whole month with packages just piling up.

No we are not. We are spending our days on Th Hub and doing the Rapha Challenge.ph34r.png whistling.gif

I would venture a fair amount of Randelas that Mr. Sars won't be in any mood to process your shipping till at least 07/01/2013 - that's if he can get past the back log building up since November. I'm waiting for some stuff from DealsExtreme and my Raspberry Pi's already ordered in November - I'm not going to the Post Office before mid January to check.

Screw you

customs clearances can take literally a few minutes these days, majority of clearances are computer checked, risk profiled and released, the delay is probably with whoever is effecting the clearances and making up the documents etc.

or it could have been stopped for an inspection which could take a few working days to get an appointment for an exam..... that's unfortunate,

bear in mind if coming through DHL they have to submit a proper entry to SARS for which you need to be registered for as an importer, that could be the cause of the delay.

I can confirm this, clearances are chop chop and if you dont feel like the EMS guy delivering your goods take a drive to mail centre with your cash and you get them asap

Your problem here is DHL, phone them and i bet they havent even done anything. otherwise wait another day or two and they will phone to confirm you going to accept the vat charges first before they proceed

I had the same trouble with a CRC shipment a while back.

The problem was DHL. They waited for me to call them before telling me that I had to pay the VAT and duty.

Once I paid them, they took another 4 days and more phone calls before they found the payment.

I won't use DHL again. The Parcel Force option is much better.

My most recent parcel went through customs clearance in less than a day, sitting with post office since Friday. Hoping they get life again tomorrow.

Second that, snail mail worked for me 2nd week of December. 4 days from UK to local small town PO. No customs delay. But phone the JHB clearing centre to see if it's roosting at your PO... 011 9616000 is the number I think I used.
