As you know I've been maoning and groaning about the way the security companies vehicles drive around Jhb recently.

On the way out to meet Delgado this morning I once again, like every morning, had a run in with Khulani Springbok and Chubb (so what's new, it happens every morning).  Speeding, trying to clip me with the vehicle's mirror, SOS.

While out riding we did hear sirens, etc going ballistic.  On my way back home I found my "friends" from Khulani, hurt in an accident, with the bakkie on it's roof (Boeing Rd at Gillooleys Farm).  Clearly the driver was speeding, as always and had overturned the bakkie.  Hopefully no one lost their lives in this one.

Moral of my long story, I hope the bosses at the security companies wake up and realise that their drivers are: (1) a denger to themselves and the lives entrusted to them and (2) they are going to kill a cyclist at some stage.

a while back in a coffee shop in Parkhurst, on of the guys from the local security company SAS decided to come around a corner and park his car in the coffee shops kitchen at the back. Over the pavement, through the tables, chairs, windows, and in to the kitchen...

ewep, when I see a commercial vehicle driving dangerously, I get the license plate and call that company immediately-the phone number is  often on the vehicle. it's legal here to talk on the mobile (cell), hands free whilst driving and I've made those calls quite a few times.

ewep, please phone the secutity company, and tell them that their drivers were speeding, and being a danger.

actually, try and find out who their insurance company is, and inform them of the speeding and dangerous driving. If they refuse to pay out the insurance claim, it is going to cause more than the very small ripple you would make by telling someone at the security company

I have mailed the security company the link and a copy.  No answer and I don't think I should hold my breath for one either!
