Those Kuota bikes are nice. TDF have 2 top end models one with Dura smiley32.gif and one with Record smiley11.gif. They dont stock Raleigh's but Cajees do. smiley36.gif

Why if Sportmans warehouse sell decent entry level Trek up to Tiagra, why dont Massmart do the same with Raleigh in their store.

I have a raleigh R3000 and you cant find better value for money I must admit I love my bike as I am a novice rider it meets my expectations.

Have just fitted a set of shimano 105 wheels to it and that makes it look even better.smiley20.gif

In one race there was a guy that raced a RC3000 and he was wearing Nike Poggio shoes. The shoes were worth more then the bike.

He gets the "Mampara of the Year" awardsmiley2.gifsmiley17.gifsmiley2.gif

Lots of guys on Raleigh RC 2000 outruns guys on Cannondales, Madones and Cervelo's.

A guy won his age category at the USN vets tour a year or so back with a 10 year old cromolly bike with downtube shifters.

Some delivery guy in takkies no toe clips on an entry level Dion Raleigh will also still beat some of the pretenders on their Cannondales and Colnagos.

Makes me think of my, at the time 14 yr old, laaitie riding the 94.7 in 2004 in 3:19 on my Peugeot Mirage from my Ironman days (last one in 2000!). 7 speed shimano 105 with shifters on the downtube, real leather saddle, Look PP56 (the good ones with adjustment!), plastic bar tape. That despite the chain snapping near the end!

But hey even he has moved on to something better, from that to a Raleigh RC3000 Malcolm Lange edition (yip signed by the man himself, or was that a transfer?) now on to a Merida and he still desperately wants one of those Curve-eh-low's kitted out like Jason's (stop posting that / those pics!!!! please!). maybe Santa in 2006? He rode 2:49 in 2005, was it the bike? Yes, and the training!

So True but I must say you dont find better value for money than an RC 3000.

And to stay in the wifes good books you just cant justify spending a huge ammount on a bike as you will never hear the end of it.smiley32.gif

...and you can justify spending R2000 on a pair of shoes?

Hey you gotto be joking if I spent R200 on a pair of shoes I will never hear the end of it. I had a rough time justifing spending R500 on a new Giro Helmet which I had to have as my last one got damaged when I came down a few weeks ago.smiley18.gif
