gummibear Posted April 8, 2014 Share The Fireflies Tour is an annual cycling challenge riding over 1000km across the most gruelling climbs of the Tour de France from Geneva to Cannes in just 8days. Established in 2001 by Sandy Watson Scott in recognition of relatives’ and friends’ battles with cancer, the Fireflies raise money to support the research and treatment of leukaemia at the Hammersmith Hospital in London – a world-leader in the treatment of blood cancers. To date, the Fireflies have raised an incredible £1.5 million.One Firefly had a conversation with friends at Cinelli, the world’s most visionary bicycle company, about the possibility of getting them involved as a jersey sponsor but they wanted to take it further – a unique collaboration with the Fireflies Tour to create a limited edition frameset with a percentage of the costs donated to the charity. They invited us to Milan to the Red Hook Crit, of which Cinelli are a headline sponsor, to discuss the project and initial designs.
