  1. My old faithful has now seen better days. Do they still make them or an equivalent? Any of you changed from an Arione to something else? I am looking for suggestions?
  2. Just asking if anybody else has had the same issue? My bike shifts prefectly between small and big chainring but when I want to trim the derailleur inwards when going to a larger cog on the sprocket it hardly moves, maybe a quarter of a mm . I had a look at another chaps bike this morning after a ride and his trims a good mm inwards . I have tried tensioning and de tensioning the barrel adjuster but it doesnt do anything. Could a worn shifter or even a bad cable housing cause this?
  3. Agree Pierre , I kept left , just be prepared for the concrete step-up out of the water . ps Langwater isnt as deep as it was last year
  4. Thanks . I tried installing the version one and it doesnt work . Lets see if you get an answer
  5. I havent tried the Live Tracking yet . I have a friend that has the previous version (firmware) maybe I must download that and try it ? Does the ally app version 1 not work on these ?
  6. Thanks for replying HDB. I found that the gps records the ride fine . Its just when it comes to uploading with bluetooth . The app sees the ride but it says " problem cant upload cant see the gps" or something like that
  7. Im really battling with mine (Lezyne Super GPS) . It just wont upload a ride via bluetooth . It does manually (which is a pain to do) . I bought this to make it easier , so far not very impressed . I do have the latest fimware
  8. Admittedly my fork isnt "creaking" its more of a ticking sound , which only really is noiticeable after about 2 hours on the bike , its not there in the beginning of the ride
  9. Thanks Stoke . I must reiterate that I never removed or attempted to remove the stanchions from the CSU , I just soaked some Loctite in there . I have read online that quite a few guys have tried this with success , I can only hope as my 5 year old fork isnt under warranty anymore
  10. Right .... so I did the Loctite 290 "heath robinson" fix . Bike still standing upside down allowing the loctite to further penetrate . I used a heat gun to heat up the crowns and then put a drop or 2 on either side of the stanchion , its very thin so runs in easily . While I was about it I also put some Loctite where the steerer tube joins the fork crown . Going to leave it for 24 hours then test it . Will report back
  11. Any news on how to solve this squeek ? My Fox fork has now also started doing this . I have read online that some guys use a Loctite remedy , just want to know if anybody has tried this with any success ?
  12. Thanks Iron appreciate your input
  13. I have taken my M8000 11 speed GS and fitted it to her 10 speed 11-42 Sunrace , 10 speed Shimano chain and SLX M670 shifter and it shifts perfectly , I cant see why the M7000 11 GS wont do the same (unless they are on a different pull ratio) ?
  14. Very strange as on the Shimano site it says that the M7000 10 SGS is 3 x 11 compatible http://bike.shimano.com/content/sac-bike/en/home/news-and-info/news/shimano-introduces-totally-redesigned-slx-m7000-mountain-compone.html
  15. Yeah thanks JXV. I have the GS M8000 rear derailleur . Will also get the M7000 GS rear for her bike as well .
  16. Just read in another forum where a chap has used an XTR M9000 rear derailleur with an older 10 speed XTR shifter and he says it works flawlessly (running 1 x 10). Food for thought http://forums.mtbr.com/drivetrain-shifters-derailleurs-cranks/will-11-speed-derailleur-work-10-speed-shifter-988005.html
  17. Thanks Koei , I am heading in that direction . Would just love to know if the system is "backwards compatible" . Shimano wont tell you as they want you to buy the newer stuff
  18. On the Mrs. bike I have a brand new chain and an 11-42 cassette (Sunrace 10 speed) running my old XT 10 speed derailleur (1 x 10). The problem is that to accomodate the 42 cog the B-Screw has to be turned in very far and the top pulley wheel while in the 11 up to 21 tooth sprockets is far away from the cassette. I know that the newer 7000 and 8000 series rear derailleurs have addressed this problem (I am running an XT M8000 1 x 11 on my bike) . Hence my question is would the new M7000 derailleur work on a 10 speed shifter , it will save me a bit of cash until I need to replace the cassette and chain with which I will then go M7000 everything
  19. Why shouldnt it ? The derailleur will move as many shifts as the shifter allows . I am just asking as I am not sure that the "ratio/yaw" that the derailleur moves will be the same as the old 10 speed SLX
  20. Anybody checked yet whether the new M7000 rear derailleur works with the old 10 speed shifter ? M670
  21. Lets hope Fikile doesnt get his grubby paws on this
  22. Still proudly sporting his world champs stripes on his sleeves . Nice bike though
  23. How this chap isn't SA sportsman of the year , heaven knows ?
  24. Correct but the only way to bounce back from a R4 mil fine is to increase your profit
