FYI

I'm running a 10 speed 11-41t and Omega Man is running an 11-38

Yeah. Loving it. If I could go back I'd maybe not go with the zee and get the xt or whatever but super duper happy. Bit of a ball ache to set up it has to be said.

Could have something to do with the short cage of the Zee.

No mess, easy setup with my SLX derailleur, the Zee was VERY tricky to get the chain length right. Went back to the SLX.

If anyone wants to buy a Zee derailleur let me know.

Also have a set 3 x 10 Deore derailleurs (right shifter used prob about 4 times before I picked up an XTR lever, left shifter never used.)

Also have an 9 speed SRAM X7 shifter if you want a SRAMano setup with the ZEE. (Best shifting system I've used actually)

Have a SRAM X9 Type 2 RD in the box too.

Haha. Corner shop much?

Yeah I think you are right about the cage length of the Zee. I think a medium or even long cage would have been a better plan. I'm still getting a bit of slap with the Zee because of chain length issues. But the Zee looks so much cooler. That has to count for something right?

I have the same problem with me Saint clutch RD also short cage. I can not make the chain shorter because there is already no more pull when in the big ring at the back, but much chain slap when on the small....such a pain!

LOL, I buy stuff thinking, this is a bargain!!! I'll keep it for XYZ bike when I get it.

I have built 2 bikes in the last year out of the spares box. Just added a frame (actually one was only half a frame)

Those went off to happy homes

long cage is pretty much a bad idea if you do any 'half' rocky stuff.

if anyone is looking for a slx clutch rear for spares or to fix , let me know (only used 4 times!! heheh)

flowta, hows about a deal.... slx spare and some $ for that zee?? - I have a zee on at the moment, and I must say it is AWESOME!!

Medium cage seems to be the happy medium.

Short cage you have no room to manoevre with chain length, not enough tension when on the small back ring, and you probably need to put on a new chain if you change to a different front ring.

Long cage you have a good chance of the RD hanging on the ground like deviate.

My wife's new ride (Trance X1). Only running 100mm Fox up front but she's tiny and the 120mm RP23 at the back is plenty.

Full XT drivetrain (2x10) with SLX shifting, Elixer 4 stopping, Mavic Crossmax SL SSC wheels on mavic hubs, Specialized cockpit (60mm stem 720mm bars).
