bigjoe Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Will be interesting! Also loved the idea of seeing the family on the swim and bike (3 times). Just gives that added motivation to keep going. Lets wait and see what awaits us on race day
hboli4 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Also liked the little beach run between the, think the proposed plan makes it a bit less spectator friendly.90km bike loops will definitely have more hills, think Herald course?
sluiper Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I'd definitely prefer a single loop swim. Hopefully they'll also put the first buoy about 500m out so the crowd has thinned out a bit when we get there. It will be interesting to see how they change the course to accommodate a 90km loop.
Johnstoneighty6 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I really hope they take the freeway option... Otherwise we climbing 5km hill, three sisters and maitlands...
Bubblez Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 ....... I'm not sure how I feel about this......... ........ S##T.Off to the pool I go.
gummibear Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I really hope they take the freeway option... Otherwise we climbing 5km hill, three sisters and maitlands... If they do change the cycle route there will be some big climbs. The guys will suffer on the TT bikes.
bigjoe Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 For those of you who are in the area.......would they be able to have the same laps, but extend the turn around by an extra 15km (30km round trip)? If so, what would the extra 15km be? Or would it be more feasible to change the route altogether?

jaxtun Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Yes....they can and add some of the Herald Cycle your route. That will also add some big hillsGums could they not push it out to Beachview and have turnaround there just before Maitlands hill starts - maybe not feasible with residents??
bigjoe Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 eish, is that a good or bad thing. Was hoping for a nice bike. Last year winds, next year potentially hills
jaxtun Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 eish, is that a good or bad thing. Was hoping for a nice bike. Last year winds, next year potentially hillsOn a positive note you would have some downhills!!
gummibear Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I guess you could go further out towards maitlands kino bayGo ride it tomorrow and see where the extra 7.5km will take the turn around to
bigjoe Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 It would have to be an extra 15km before turning around. 30km extra per lap
gummibear Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 It would have to be an extra 15km before turning around. 30km extra per lap It's late in the day and you made Jax's ride a little further
jaxtun Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Oh an extra 15km before turning - that will take you up Maitlands then or 5km - gonna be interesting! Big Joe you may have wind and hills to cope with next year!
