@ Red - No ... "Stage 2" ... will still go off the bank on the right of the pic.

The trail crew mistakenly opened to OLD line instead of cutting a new tight switch around the big tree as a B line ...

You will see how its taped on Sat ... but the main line is still off the bank.

That outside line will be taped off as its too fast and easy.

Taping will happen on Friday ... so for the JHB guys and girls who are coming down on Friday you may see me on the trails.

Stop and say Hi

Will be on the trails as early as possible and for as long as possible, would be awesome if you brought your bike with and joined us for a run or 5 between taping :whistling:

Ah!! Thanks Nigel,

Was a bit bummed when I checked that out. ( Don't worry, when I started that stage I just could not bring myself to go down that part. It was down the bank or nothing  )

How many JHBers are going to Giba or all going to Mankele?

Work might cause me to leave JHB late.

Roag site is saying there 4 stages? Or are there 3? Anyone know how mant there are?

Hylt there are 4 stages! ... I added in one extra from last year ...

Each stage should have a winning time somewhere between 5 to 10 min ... so i am looking at a total race time of about 25 to 30min. Then liaison sections of 20min or so per stage.

PLEASE NOTE (although i will brief everyone on Sat about this) ... BEFORE you head to stage 3 ... You will need to ride back to Giba Cafe and "sign in" on a register ... ... this is all part of the open section ... but i am bringing everyone back to camp for a chance to refuel, chat to the family, and just build the awareness of the event with the other people at giba to help the sponsors with exposure.

Also ... im not sure how this would work (as im against it as it doesnt work this way internationally) .... but Jason @ Giba has it in his head that with the timing systems, you can choose which order you want to run your stages in ...

IE - you can run stage 2 first and then go up to stage 1 ... and then go back to "Service" at Giba ... then head out and run Stage 4 and then Stage 3 .... and then go back to the finish ....

But IMO this is not the way its done overseas and i have set the tracks up specifically with their technicality in mind so that you are not racing hard core trails when you are stuffed.

But anyway ... lets see what JAson says on the day ....

But it will definately be that you run stage 1 (Gravity) and stage 2 (Mainline) ... then go back to "Service" .. then out again for Stage 3 (Reverse Blue Route) and Stage 4 (Shaya Moya).
