Hi Hub'rs

Would appreciate your experience on the Rosemary Hill trails out Pretoria way, i.e. distance, route profile, what it may be compared with locally (I frequently ride Modders, Thaba, Rietvlei, Groenkloof, Voortrekker ...) as well as your impresssions of the technicalities - if any.

Thanks in advance!

Entire route is about 20km's with maybe 200 m of climbing, not really technical (1 or 2 drop offs) but mostly rideable, just check the condition of the floating bridge before riding it - good fun for the whole family

The monthly night rides are super cool for the whole family. An easy 5km ride for kids (my 7 year old daughter manages this quite comfortably) and an accessibly 20km for adults.

It's boring. And it doesn't flow nicely. As some have mentioned, it's ok for a family outing with young ones, but otherwise I wouldn't waste my time going there.

Rather go to big red barn, awesome flowing trails, and even my 10 yr old can ride it with me, so it's good for the family too.

A lovely place to take newbies to.

Some excitement, but mostly fun.

And coffee :)

Ah, yes... That was the interesting section through the ruins.

I was following missionS at speed through there and at the last second he realised that his bars weren't quite going to fit through the first narrow doorway. Needless to say it was *** and hare and brakes and locking up sideways but we both go through relatively unscathed.

Rode Big Red Barn this morning. You were right about the FLOW!

Thanks again to all!

Take Nelmapius offramp from the R21 and go through Irene Village. The road is the M18, Glen Road running to Olifantsfontein. You can't miss the barn from the road. Check out their website: www.thebigredbarn.co.za as they have a map. Ride is R40, trail run is R20. Good coffee afterwards :)

What I appreciate about Rosmerry hill is that the routes changes every third time i cycle there. that new little detours is what brings me back

Good family outing and kids love it. Hardcore MTB riders will get a little adrenaline rush but beginners will love it. What I appreciate about it is that you can hone skills and do sections over again and again. Very valuable to beginner or intermediary riders. Also 24 hours access.
