How about next year you don't do the Epic and you rather do the France trip? We both know you would rather do that. She's keen to go, but will probably spend more time drinking vino in the fields while we throw ourselves off mountains. So you get to ride "together" without frustrating each other. She rolls down the green and you roll down the red. You meet at the bottom and ride the lift back up. AAAAAaaaaaaand Repeat.
