From what I've heard from orthopaedic surgeons is that depending on the severity of the impingement it may resolve with just physio and perhaps a cortizone injection to reduce the inflammation and impingement. If it is severe then surgery is very simple and effective - they have to "shave" the bone which is pinching to give the nerve line more space, but yeah. It's still surgery.

Good luck man! Hope it's just something that can be fixed with an adjustment or muscle treatment.

Ok, so mini update...

My physio does not think it's an impingement, mainly due to the fact that it's been 1 year and 9 months since the initial injury, and she knows that my shoulder isn't stable because she's seen me do pushups (a hazard or blessing of having your physio being one of your best friends). So current prognosis is that my stabilizing muscles are weak and don't like all the exercise that I've been doing lately and are now spasming to the point that the nerves are pinching. Going to see her once more this week and try to get the muscles to relax, but we did make an appointment with the shoulder specialist for next week just incase.

So moral of the story, don't skimp on your exercises that they give you during rehab.
