Send it to Garmin SA, they replaced my FR405 with a brand new 610 Bundle in 10 days door-to-door for just R2200.

Luckily mine is only about 10months old! Still under warranty :-)

I was there on Tuesday, my wife's Garmin edge 500 Red froze on Monday night after updating to 3.2

 

Walked in, gave it one look, tried the 2 button reset, nothing, took new box off shelve, took my name, cell and email and off I went.

Fair enough, but I have a good relationship with EasyGis, and I believe that when you have a good point of contact like I do with Matthew , I'd rather wait a few weeks and use him. I'm also sure that this isn't going to be a quick repair, but rather a replace (given what I have researched - some of the 410's have a glitch when you regularly use the System Shut down feature), so it probably would have had to go through them anyway.

Luck bastard. Still, mine was more than 3yrs old so I was happy to receive an upgrade for fifty percent of retail.

Great service from Garmin. my 705 packed up and they swapped it for a 800 with small pay in fee, then loaded 2012 maps where i previously had 2007.
