Repair Neoprene Tri-suit

I've ripped my tri-suit and need to repair it. I see there are many tutorials on youtube but I do not know where to source the neoprene patches (I've tried Fabric World in Wynberg and they only stock thick lycra - or is that the same thing?) and the neoprene specific glue. Can anyone shed some light on the matter for me please? I am in the southern suburbs and would like to do it myself, please let me know if you've done the same, thanks Hubbers.

don't know how big the tear is, but the glue works well fro small tears and nicks, I got some from my local sportsmans warehouse

I had a 10 - 12 cm tear behind my Knee. I took it to a dry cleaner here in Pe. R 60 bucks and an hour later it was fixed. Never had another problem with it again

It's a massive tear under the left arm so it needs a patch unfortunately, any idea where I can source some neoprene and the specific glue?

dylan, is it your trisuit or wetsuit? wetsuits can easily be repaired with a soft rubber adhesive, the one i use is made by pratley... bought from Mica, most material shops should stock a thin neoprene if you want to patch it on the inside, but usually if done properly the adhesive will be sufficient to repair the hole

I understand that wetsuit glue is basically black contact glue.

 

I fixed a small tear with contact and a self adhesive puncture repair patch on the inside to add some structural strength.

Wetsuit adhesive is much like the glue you use to repair your bicycle tubes, in fact you could use that in a pinch, but its different in mix to basic contact adhesive.
