  1. 1. How do you manage your drivetrain

    • Change the chain religiously when 1/16 worn

    • Do one chain change then ride it out and replace the drivetrain
      3
    • Do two chain changes and then ride it out

Nice! Thats quite some bling for a wee men. Awesome stuff.

SA champ in anything is pretty cool, wish I could put that up on my wall.

But, I don’t think it’s a healthy situation where such a young kid is on such a fancy bike. They don’t need the blingest bike or a serious training program at this age. Should rather be having fun racing around the block against his mates. Dads might think they’re helping create the next Burry Stander, but are probably just creating the perfect conditions for a spoilt brat.

This is not fingerpointing at this kid or his parents, but when I see that photo I just immediately think this is an unhealthy scenario. Go to any Spur kids race and you’ll see how out of control it is.

Congratulations to Luc Mellaart who became a SA Champ over the weekend at the SA National MTB XCO Championships on Hayterdale Trails - Addo.

Luc rode a BOOTH BIKES 26" small hardtail, with custom built ZTR wheels laced to a Project 321 lefty hub and a Lefty fork with carbon bars and stem.

Congrats to the little guy and his family, the guy on the left does not look happy!
