We bought a unit back in Sept 2012 at Sportsmans. Anyway the battery fails in the unit a few days ago. I replace the battery with a new one and now it flashes a couple of error codes. We have the original box but cant find the slip.

 

We take it through to Garmin and they no longer offer the product so they wont repair it.

We cant find the slip so they wont replace it. Fair enough.

We took the box back to Sportsmans who can verufy from the barcode when AND to whom the product was sold, this is not acceptable to Garmin. We can also pull up bank statements to show when the product was bought, this is also not acceptable.

 

What a pain!

Whoo hoo. We have now found the slip, it was filed in the 2011 folders and not 2012.

So Garmin, time to pull out a new unit!

Have Garmin turned over a new, less acceptable service leaf.? :oops:

Most previous posts raved about the great after sales service.

Retaining slips and more specifically boxes for guarantee purposes is one of my pet hates. :thumbdown:
