I recently purchased a i-Vortex trainer with TTS4. After reading some horror stories about how hard it was to set up I was pleasantly surprised to be up and running in no time. However, since then I am constantly getting issues with the link between the brake and the software "breaking" and half way through sessions the brake will suddenly get a mind of its own and randomly adjust the resistance. This is helluva annoying have to stop and reset 45 minutes into an interval workout!

Has anybody else had any issues with TTS4?

Have TTS3 and frankly tacx software is a nightmare to get to proper working condition. tacx has a forum on their website generally you will find somebody who had similar issues and how after trail and error they managed to fix, so go and scratch there. otherwise email support they are generally quite helpfull, they will send you a diagnostic tool to download which can pinpoint the issue to them.

Agree with Tjokkits re: 1,2 and 3 - its problematic and now, unsupported.

I was a bit aggrieved to have to move to 4 because 2 didnt work on Windows 7 64bit and, and, and.......

But Tacx 4 is much more user-friendly software, & more fun; but you need a much higher spec machine for it.

Suggest you contact Jade at Coolheat in Modderfontein - he's pretty helpful and they are the distributors for Tacx in SA.,

So you reckon tts4 worthwhile to buy. Not sure if you have some of the very old videos but i am scared they wont work on the new

The Tacx software is great when it works, but the fact that it bombs out during workouts makes it almost worthless - doing an indoor session is hard enough without having to stop, get off and reboot the computer. I emailed the support desk and they acknowledged a bug with version 4.7 - apparently an update will be out in the next few weeks.

First off I must say that this is one of the best buys in a long time, luckily the I dont experience all the software problems.

I have a fairly old laptop....3 years (i5, 4gb ram) and must say that it works fine for me. Cant load 20 virtual opponents, but sure that isn't necessary.

There was a issue upgrading to 4.7, but the first solution in this link sorted the problem. http://forum.tacx.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=20269

I know that Chris Willemse also has a direct link to the developers if you struggle.

Regarding old videos........I mailed tacx about some old vids I have and the also told me that its not suported. BUT.....after some searching I found this website that makes all the videos compatible. http://www.lunicus.org/tacx/ttsfiles.htm Pretty sweet. Think it is poor that tacx couldnt bring that support on their own.

Also if you search http://bitsnoop.com for old tacx videos you wont find any.......

See Fanie Fiets link re: RLVs I tried to work it out but couldnt, though i didnt give it a full go.

It is much more fun & it is supported - but you need advanced, not basic.

I had the old green interface so had to change that too.

The cheapest way i found was an upgrade kit from CWC that gives you the interface + tts4 basic. I then downloaded tts4 advanced from their website for another 80 euros.

RLV - as far as I can remember it was fairly easy. Install the video and copy paste/replace one file. If I could figure it out it must have been very simple.
