This year I decided to watch, rather than take part in PE's biggest cycle tour, The Herald.

I was very disappointed to discover that neither the mens nor ladies MTN teams supported the home town event of one of their main sponsors, Raleigh (Probike).

They obviously have their reasons, but disappointing none the less.

I think it was because the Roadies were in Egypt and the MTBers had a national.

But it could also be because they heard Neotel were coming smiley36.gif

MTN Energade have three riders in Malaysia racing the Tour de Langkawi on the national team. Another five left for the Tour d' Egypt on Saturday. Neil MacDonald is injured after a crash at World's View Challenge and Nic White is mourning the loss of his Dad.

The remaining riders - Lange, Kinnear and Potgieter raced the Emperor's Classic in Joburg yesterday, while the women's team rode and won the Kormorant Classic (Cherise) and the Emperor's Classic (Marissa), both in Joburg.

I raced the MTB and watched from the comfort of a car's boot with cushions and a duvet on Sunday.

I did exactly the same and I have to say that the MTB route was brilliant. I enjoyed it so much and I'm glad that I didn't chuck my mtb away  as I wanted to do after Bruintjieshoogte

That's exactly my point. Their sponsor is a PE based company, they should be giving their sponsor support in a PE event and not the Jhb events. Then again MTN is a Jhb company, so...........................oh well, lets just hope we see more of the big teams/riders in PE next year.
