Ever got on an 'old' bike and ........

felt right at home, confident and comfortable! Had one of those days, had this bike since about 2009 and done loads of races (stage, 24hr, 1 day you name it) on it. Recently updated the groupset to newer 9sp XT and use it just for training so as to save those expensive 10sp consumable parts on my other bikes.

 

Also stopped to reflect and think of a good mate taken too soon, some may remember him as he was also an active Hubber, Mark Stockton. he has a permanent plague at my favourite weekday riding spot on a tree he called 'lazy 7' due to it's shape and threatened many times to cut it down!

Nothing to do with cycling, but, Mark was one of the best guys I ever met. Ride the trail in the sky Mark.
