  1. Great scenery I'm sure. Quite an interesting history around the town. When we went through there a few years ago we were shown some special hospitality when we showed interest on one of the families' lavish veggie garden.
  2. Hi guys, I'm not a runner but I want to get moving a bit. 30 year old out of shape male with a stationary job. Would you say that following a Couch-to-5k plan (via an app) is a good idea?
  3. That's great! I like that idea. I've tried 16:8 daily, which is fasting 16 hours (including sleep time) and eat in a 8 hour window for a few months and it actually worked as a method of calorie restriction. Then I fell off due to holiday and now it's really difficult to get back into it. Guess I just need to bit the bullet
  4. Hi guys, Don't know if this has been discussed before, but have you looked at intermittent fasting? I think an important part of the success of low carb, high fat, is the eating less often part, something you'll hear the likes of Tim Noakes talk about often (skipping lunch and eating only when hungry)
  5. MTBeer that looks like a lot of fun!
  6. I've been Banting on and off now for quite some time. That approach certainly doesn't work. Recently I've decided to do it properly, and my wife is joining too. I've noticed that even when eating Banting foods, my portions are quite big. I did a BMI test, calculated caloric requirements, and setup MyFitnessPal. On the very first day of logging my intake, I was shocked to see how many calories I over consume normally, even when Banting. I'm feeling a bit weak and peckish, probably due to the calorie deficit. But I've got 25kg's of fat to get rid off, so I hope my body taps into that energy soon
  7. Don't klap a kitkat before your ride! IF you're taking some carbs for a ride, wait until you are on the bike and already warmed up. Else it might cause your glucose levels to sky rocket and to plummet again
  8. We recently started watching Orphan Black. Only 5 episodes into this Canadian series, and enjoying it so far
  9. Just stumbled upon this thread... So, did you relocate to Cape Town?? I'm also a developer (Web,asp.net MVC) but in Bloemfontein, and considering a move to CT to advance my career, but not sure if I'm comfortable with working in the CBD. Work in areas like Somerset, Stellenbosch, durbano, Brackenfell, Bellville doesn't seem to exist in this field though

    Knysna Cycle Tour

There was a lady in the MTB ride who had a terrible fall. She was unconscious. Does anyone know is she's okay?
  13. Some info about cooking methods: Source
  14. The wife and I aren't fans of zombie-type series, but we started watching Walking Dead and can't get enough of it. It's awesome
  15. Time for some tasties: First is some boiled egg & avo salad - I had it for late breakfast and it keeps you full for a long time. Second is chicken strips with a tomato paste and garlic sauce over cooked veggies with generous feta and olive oil. Yummy
