Road bike or mountain bike for my work commute?

I use my MTB to commute with. Thought of going the road bike SS route (still thinking of doing it just for the fun of it) but with the roads I use in mind, I choose the MTB.

Remember. Pedestrians = sheep who can't judge speed and distance. I know. I was a pedestrian for 4 years (and used public transport for 3 years)
