Hey Guys

Who on here has insurance on their bike?

My bike is worth around R8000... not sure if insurance would be worth it? Rather save up the extra cash?

I commute to work 3 times a week 30km one way that's apart from my weekend rides... so it's quite a lot of miles.

I've heard many who has insurance but I'm not sure who to go with and the price it will be?

Thanks!

My MTB is covered for 10K all-risk type insurance on my normal insurance policy. Costs around R40 per month.

Sorry to hear about your accindent and trouble Captain Cheesy.

Normally these things cause more schlep than the seriousness of the accident itself...

Just don't back down. Get out of the guy what you can, it sounds like he was responsible for your damage.

He or his insurance should at least cover some of your expenses.

Good luck!

The rear side of seat post tube just below the clamp.

Opinions on repairability? My thoughts are not on trail rides. Maybe a candidate for a commuter ride if I weld it

Might just be the photo, but those welds don't look good either (might just be a mark in the paintwork though - probably best to get it tested for cracks to find them all before considering whether to weld it up - a good motor engineering shop can do it for you - I can suggest one to try if you don't know one - I would also have a good look under the headset on the frame too - where the head tube joins the down tube, and the top tube.

Of course you will need to respray the frame too... or at least parts of it.

Glad you walked away from this one though. :)
