Here we go again! Get ready for some small town hospitality, a sweet proper mtb route, cold beers, lekke food and hopefully a beatiful Spring day under the Africal sun.

Hope to see some of you Hubbers there.

I will be exploring some farm road and cattle track options with one on the farmers tomorrow morning for the new return sections on the other side of the mountain (yes, we are going over it, not around it). Very thankful for the farmers who are so generous as to giving us access on their land for the day.

So far for the long route it looks like either 61 or 67km with either 950 or 1000m ascent. Any preferences?

It's Heidelberg, we can do 2000m! ...but we wont. Join us on a social ride one Saterday on your AM rig and your mouth will drop at the natural riding that is available on our doorstep. Just not suitable for a race.

Ai, so much anger on the hub this week. Keep it bottled in and then come klap our 65km route on the 19th of October. Just don't klap it from behind, the arrows will be in the opposite direction.

Only thing you will encounter at our spruit crossings may be cow, jackal and eland, no bull!

But seriously, route will be awesome.

Awesome day out as we did a dry run of around 92% of the 60km route on Saturday. Saw lots of game up close and a spectacular view of the Jhb skyline from the highpoint of 1800m.

Although the 23km route has some gradual climbs and twisty singletrack, it certainly is not technical.

As for the 60km route, this is a proper mtb route with very close to 1000m total ascent. Although we removed some of the most technical sections of last year's route, the new sections is worth it. Some bumpy sections also removed thanks to new land access available to us this year.

When do pre-entries close?

Wednesday next week preferably but I am sure we can handle entries up to next Thursday (17th), but the sooner we get them the better we can plan.
