I speak under correction but a word of warning if you're planning on doing this race and haven't yet entered - only pre-entries will be accepted and by 10h00 this morning was closed and the entry limit exceeded.

Doing the 30km. The climbing profiles look interesting!!

Ok, maybe a bit more mud than I anticipated! Was still a great/tuff 45km. Front eight guys managed to miss a marker or two and ended up doing 36km's, so don't feel bad when you see the winning times compared to yours! Hehe! 45km took me 2h44mins

First half of the race was good, long long climb. But after that they ran out of ideas or something as the route was extremely boring, and again the 15km kiddies route merging with the longer routes caused a lot of problems. I dont mind being held up or taking a different line but these kids are gonna cause a big accident soon, and I dont want to be responsible for hurting a child in a crash. Nice weather, loads and loads of mud, brand new bike, first race with it and its allready in need of a service. Now lets watch some rugby.

That was a tuff race but not for the K@K long climb but all the mud!!! good event non the less, next some more markers/marshals would make things a lot better!!

Agreed on the Marhalls and the one waterpoint only had wine and champagne. I love wine and champagne, but when I am cycling I want water, cooldrinks and bananas or sweets. Dont want to complain too much, was still enjoyable, but ja. Tough race.

Wine and Champagne! I didn't even see that, that's a bit rediculous, especially on a route that for some might feel like an eternity of climbing (#Please take note of these issues Rotary organisers#), my wife for one, wasn't happy about the waterpoints, I just filled some water at a lone standing Oomie somewhere. I also felt that some of the "mud" crossings was a bit unnecessary, they could easily made a way around them. I took extra note of all the markings as last year I missed one or two and had to turn around, so this year I fortunately spotted them all. I agree with Schalk, was still a nice race! I'm nackered now!

Route markings were SHOCKING to say the least.Nothing worse than hauling ass to find a dead end at the top of a climb to have to go all the way back down to try find correct route. The markings this year were put out by the farmer who clearly hasn't got a clue.Having a marker AFTER a turn doesn't help.People don't realize how dangerous it is to go off track. One of the guys in the front group with us got his face cut open riding into a bobwire fence.Did the race last year and everything was perfect.Seems like very little effort went into it this year.

Agree with you, at one stage I was riding alone, could not see any others riders in front or behind.Obviously got lost, slowed down waited for riders, but no one came. However I saw some bicycle tyre treads in the dirt, so obviously others made the same mistake, so I just rode on till I eventually joined the race again.
