So who is going to join me on Saturday?

Hopefully there will be enough guys to sort into different groups, ie Race Snakes, Fastish guys, Slower guys, etc.

Come on, give me an idea of how slow they are going to be (average expected speed) and I might just join in if they are really slack. (I'm a diesel with high mileage, way past racing prime.)

djr....they can average a good 25 to 26 on the flats (probably more if theres minimal wind)....its only the hills that really nail them (weight disadvantage......im a lightweight so use every opportunity to hammer them).....otherwise...they just keep plugging away at it....i dont know what tne distance will do to them......its about 50km more than theyre used to......so i expect a average of around 22-25

OK Guys and Gals. Here goes.

Meet at Shopping Complex, ready to depart at 6h30 (it's gonna be a long day in the saddle) Bring extra food and drink in small togbag, can be left in Berry's vehicle. Don't forget extra tubes and other stuff you may need. And now I'm gonna sound like your Mom, DON'T FORGET SUNSCREEN!!

Guys will probably quickly sort themselves into groups, I suspect by the time we turn left towards Paarl, groups will be formed already.

There will be three stops. 1st at left turn towards Hermon for Wellington (little rest before long drag towards Botmaskop)

2nd stop at Silos, we can stop on the Slent road reserve.

3d stop where you get onto the R44 from the Kromme Rhee rd. Last little rest before those last couple of killer drags / climbs towards Stellies.

Stops will be about 5 minutes long.

To refresh your memory (or give you nightmares) of what lays ahead, here's the route.

Right after the start, you’ll head up Helshoogte for your first big climb, turning left onto the R45 towards Paarl. Venturing out to Wellington, Hermon, and Riebeeck Kasteel, you’ll tackle your second climb up Botmaskloof Pass before reaching Malmesbury. Then it’s onto the R304 past the silo’s and back towards Stellenbosch via Kromme Rhee Road and the R44, finishing again on Helshoogte Road with a neutral zone back to the venue.

See you guys on Saturday.
