http://www.raceface.com/comp/3103/banner_images/image4.jpg

ordered me 2 of these voodoo rings in blue, yesterday. Keen for them to arrive and try it out.

I'll be running mine on a 1x10 setup (Race Face states it's 9, 10, and 11sp compatible)

  • Chainring - 34T Race Face Narow Wide
  • Cassette - 11 - 36T SLX
  • Derailleur - Shimano Saint 10sp shadow plus
  • Chain - SRAM 1031 10sp.
  • Bike - Intense 6.6 AM/Enduro bike.

After a few rides, I'll report back on my findings

I'll do the same. I also ordered the 34t blue, narrow wide. Will be going on my Reign X, with X0 Redwin Red (non clutch) and 11-34 for now.

I'm not sure how true it is, but I have heard that in order to run them properly at 9sp, one has to use a 10sp chain.

I guess that makes sense if one thinks about it ie. a tighter fit between tooth and chain.

Okay... does make sense. I'll report back. I suck at riding so I generate more than the usual amount of trail chatter. Will see how it pans out with a normal 9sp chain and a non-clutch RD

And if need be. Sigh.

Okay - to those who bought the RaceFace Narrow / wide chainrings - did you receive the call I just did?

Buycycle say that the description was incorrect and they are currently out of stock, but the new shipment is arriving on Monday and we will receive our items next week, round wednesday / thursday, at the same price as bought.

Where did you boys order the RF rings from - I dont see the narrow wides at Buycycle? I also want a blue 34 or 36 tooth for my SLX cranks.

I didn't receive a call, but I noticed the change of description on the website as well as in my online order history.

Fortunately I still have my invoice email with the "narrow-wide" description, so I phoned them and let them know that I didn't order the "single ring", but the "narrow-wide".

They said al will be sorted out, so here's holding thumbs!

Mate of mine (Headshot, actually) mailed me and told me he had had a call. My phone was dead, so I may have received one but didn't notice. So I phoned them up ad everything is hunky dory.

Apparently they're receiving the shipment today so shipping should be tomorrow. Cannot wait!!!

Just got my Wolftooth rings in from USA.

32T for marathons and 30T for XCO. Running it on a 11/36 cassette on a 29er HT.

Considered a General Lee cassette but seeing reports of sluggish shifting and excessive wear after 4 months. Cannot have sluggish shifting doing XCO.

Just have to HTFU on the long climbs.

Have a 1x9 34T with 11/34 26er FS which i just did Hakahana on. No problems with the climbs so the 32T on the 29er should do.

Gear calculator gives me about 40km/h on the 32/11 combo. More than enough.

At Hakahana on the 26er on 34/11 I easily kept up with the 29ers on the flats. Just have to suck wheel and draft to go even faster.

Will post pics of the conversion when done.
