What license to buy?

i know not technical but dont know where to post. what is the difference between the R75 and R350 license with regards to strt times for races? can i still race age group with the R75 one? And will i get a better seeding if i buy the R350 one?

The R350 lic is a racing license

and

the R75 is a recreational license

 

If you plan on and ready for racing , get racing lic

 

you can also work your self up to a good start time in the open seeded groups with a R75 bucks lic

R350 licence is if you want to race in the elite bunch on road races and with the R75 licence you will be able to race in the open seeded cat.

 

Does not help to have a R350 licence in MTB as far as I know. There they only work on your seeding

The more expensive one makes you eligible for provincial and national selection. The R75 is an affiliation licence. The seeding is separate and based on actual race times

The R350.00 license also allows one to take part in Provincial and national Championships.

So if you are a rider who rides big events like Argus, 94.7 but does not want to ride SA's then the R75.00 will do just fine.

Riding in a licenced age group gives you an earlier start but you still need a good enough seeding to be able to ride with the group. I think for 50+ it is a seeding of 20 or less. Your seeding relative to what you have in open seeded will likely deteriorate because of the way the groups race, unless you can stick with the strong men. Not serious though - once you are in the group that is where you ride.

Your seeding index would also need to be of such a nature which will allow you to race together with the Lic Vets.

If your seeding is not up to scratch yet, you can still race in the open/seeded category until you've managed to bring your seeding down (below 20)
