Raleigh RC7000 Carbon

I am looking at buying a new Raleigh RC7000 Carbon (Blue) 2007 model.  The price (R13500) & components look good but I've heard they've had problems with the frames breaking.  Any comments??

If you buy it new from a dealer then don't worry about the frame. IF it breaks, not all of them do, then you will get a brnad new 08 frame.

It is an awesome looking bike, problem was that many of the frames were cracking. Raleigh replaced the frames of the broken ones with the 2008 model. The problem (for me anyway) was that the replacement frame didn't look as nearly as nice as the ones that broke.

Is this Raleigh frame cracking an urban myth or did it really happen?  Can anyone give us first hand information?  Someone it actually happened with and what response they got from Raleigh?  I have not met anyone that this has happened to, so I would like to know what the truth behind the rumours is.

Los vir Brandon uit!!!!! Hulle het al die rame (wat hy al oor en oor verduidelik het 'n slegte batch was) gratis vervang!!!!!! Doen 'n search oor Raleigh op hierdie einste Wielnaaf en lees self so bietjie. Vra eerder bietjie vir Gerard Vroomen en mister White om te verduidelik hoekom hulle se fietsies ook kraak!!!! Los vir Brandon uit hy is ten minste eg Suid Afrikaans!!!!!!! en het 'n werk om te doen...... ja hy verskaf fietse aan duisende Suid Afrikaners wat graag wil fietsry..... van die MTN se geel fietse to die Makro Spesjils!!!!!!!!

daar net al soveel vrae oor raleigh rame, en ja, ek en jy weet dat dit n slegte batch was.

I have the exact bike.

 

So far no problems. Had it for around 9 months. At the price it is a really good buy.

I know of 3 guys in our club with the 2007 frames and all were replaced.

 

If I remember (and sometimes I don't always remember that well) Brandon Els did reply on the hub some time back on this issue. From what I recall, he gave stats on the percentage of frames that broke.
