Hi Guys

I recently bought BBB aluminium bar ends for my MTB. I cannot titen enough to make them stop slipping forward when i push on them, they actually damaged my bars slightly from overtightening and still slipped.

What can i do, I have heard of rubbing paste maybe glue?

Please help?

I spotted your problem. All you have to do is remove the bar ends and never put them back.

Wider bars with shorter stem will give you just as much leverage for climbing with the added benefit of increased control.

Bar ends are like paisley shirts ... dated.! (apparently not for some of my work colleagues LOL)

If you must though, try some carbon paste.

Something I also found out. Will never use them again

Yes you can use carbon assembly paste to help stop the slipping. I use Tacx carbon paste on my seatpost to stop it slipping. Works like a bomb.

Here is the link to the product I use:

http://www.tacx.com/en/products/tools/carbon-assembly-compound

The 80g tube will cost about R180 but it lasts a long time.

And try bar ends. If it works for you then use it. Some folk are way more concerned about image than functionality.

You also get sample like sachets which is way cheaper.

True, If you only going to use it once go for the sample sachets.

I bought a tube because I strip and clean my bike regularly and then reapply paste on all the striped parts. (Handle bar to stem, Seatpost to frame). It helps because then I dont have to over tighten the bolts and cause possible damage to carbon parts.

Bar ends are not a fashion statement - for me who suffers with carpal tunnel syndrome (badly) they give me more hand positions to combat this - so mine will stay
