For the little difference in weight I'd go for the FlowTrails. Seriously considering them for my Ibis HDR build. If you do the odd jump or drop then I wouldn't recommend the AMC Race wheels.

I really like the AMC wheels but if what you say is true I should re-consider

Rims are nice and wide (some of the widest XC rims out there), hubs engage fast and they spin smooth. Nothing wrong with them. My recommendation is purely based on:

"I will be doing mostly XC style races but also the occasional jump n play session"

If you're going to use your 26" bikes for those, you'll be fine. But the Race won't last many jump 'n' play sessions.

I'd go with the custom build with 32 spokes

Only reason I wanted to go with that is, although I'm losing out with a couple grams heavier, they will be

1. Stronger

2. Have Hope hubs so easy to upgrade rims at a later stage should something else come along.

The 100gr or so won't make a difference

The 100gr or so won't make a difference

Except if you're on 10.081kg for your build ... ;)

Haha, throw on some Look S track pedals, thats should do the trick

Hehehe

Actually I'm not too worried about that I would love to keep it under 11 but for the rest breaking 10 will just cost me ;)

I'd rather skip a meal somewhere....

Have a look here: light-bicycle.com

650B carbon rims coming in at 1455gr a set. $564 excl shipping and customs.

Weight rating of 120kg.

Some Hubbers are riding 29inch carbon wheels from them with no issues.

They also advertise "assistance with invoice" for customs duties. So you could get them landed here for under 7.5k.
