GIRR Posted February 19, 2008 Share If you want a really comfortable bike thats also very stiff get the roubaix SL2, you'll never look back. I got the Roubaix Pro (only difference is the SL2 is a bit lighter) and its great, the Tarmac version is lighter with a bit more of an aggresive frame geometry. Either way go Specialized! The Hawk CT Posted February 19, 2008 Share I have the SL2 and dont find a problem with the ride quality in terms of the ride. I have gel under my bar tape as well as a Fizik saddle. I know the specialised saddle gives it a more harsh ride feeling, but with the Aliante i have no problem.... smooth like a babies bottom... and no need for a Assos :-) I also had a bike setup done by Jeroen Swart... GIRR Posted February 19, 2008 Share I've got the phenom sl saddle from specialized and I agree it does make the ride more harsh compared to the Fizik aliante I used to have. The problem I found with the Aliante was that after the 2.5 hr mark in a ride it broke my ass which the specialized isn't doing. The Fizik is now on my spinning bike. Initial feelings are that that front end is very stiff. overall it also feels stiffer than my old giant tcr yet more comfortable - i think the word is supple. gyro Posted April 10, 2008 Share Hmm washed my bike over the weekend and discovered a crack on the new frame Above the front derailleur, behind the seattube. In fact that whole are behind the seattube feels really soft. I checked with buddy who has same frame and his is not like that. Frame is currently at LBS waiting for the agents inspection. LBS agrees it's not normal but apparently Specialzed has very laborious warrenty procedure where a report with pics first has to be sent to America for approval. Big deal, when you are still on it, and it's still strong in 5, or 6, or 10 years then you can say something... Scandium Pinarello is coming for 5 years now and is as perfect as the day it was made.
