Riding the Spruit yesterday eve I nearly went headlong into a ditch/stream because the bridge has been washed away.

The spot is in Delta Park on the downhill after riding around the school playground and starting the windy descent (North side). On Strava it's called "Down through Delta switchbacks to first bridge"

You can't see it until you are right on it and I only just managed to stop...BEWARE!

Washed away or stolen for scrap metal ??

You are thinking of the wrong bridge. This one is wooden.

I had the same issue this morning and also just managed to stop.

The bridge is still their but in 2 pieces due to the storm and in the grass.

There is some earth / bridge missing crossing over rustenberg road riding towards William nicol. As u get to other side of the road and onto the single track off the pavement ...... 1m wide by about 2 deep. Almost ended up in there this morning.... Had to try jump it while descending..... Lucky not to land up in ditch. Be careful out there.

you mean Jan Smuts?

There was a danger sign there until some idiot removed it and just put rocks in the path.

Yeah, this one is much worse than the Delta Park one.. North side of Jan Smuts, but you can see it from a bit further back, on the run down the bank, but this one has been like this for weeks, and yes the danger sign has "walked" :-(

I suspect the sign "remover" is not the same person as the rock "layer". The rocks do somehow warn you in time... joys of our sport.

I noticed yesterday that the "informal residents" are becoming a lot more formal. There are now a lot of tents sprouting up, especially next to the Field and Study area in Parkmore. This is surely not a good thing? Next will be shanty houses...

BTW. Thanks to the person who has done a running repair to that Delta Park bridge, by placing a wooden pallet next to where the original one was.
