Guest Frail4Life Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Broken!UpdateSundayI left CT 7h30Choosing 12th Avenue, less taffic.Headed out towards Paarl.Meeting up with 2 City riders, on way to Stellies.Later seeing 4 more guys out for a ride.Stopping in Paarl for a refuel.Heading up Du Toitskloof my rear tube goes sssh.Fixing the flat to find the spares valve is loose, waisted a bomb.On the road again, climbing slowy.One Trucker feels its not safe to pass me, I feel sorry, try speed up my tempo. Reaching the top I then sit on his tail, cruising all the way down.Stopped at Du Toitskloof resort for a refuel.One amazed couple talk to me about my ride, made a Donation. On the way down my rear tube goes sssh again.At last I reached Worcester, refueled and repaired the tube.Cruising up the Hexriver pass one there trucker greets me, he calls by my name.Heading for Touwsriver, just rolling hills. Stopped again to refuel. Heading for Laingsburg, Country Hotel.More rolling hills. Finally rolled in at Lainsburg. Not tired, but my body is Broken!Total time 20 hours since leaving CT.

Guest Frail4Life Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Day 2Ambition to race the clock.Left the Laingsburg Country Hotel at 13h00.After riding for just 28km I pulled over, needed a snack. I was then able to push the speed. Stopping @ Prince Albert road to refuel. Cruising nicely, then ssssh bang 2 punctures.Pulling in @ Leeu-Gamka for a snack.Leaving I saw there was a electric storm in the distance. The closer I pushed for Beaufort I felt the Wind pick up.Someone tipped off the Metro that I was in the area, 5 vehicles were waiting for me.Pulling in to Beaufort West after just 10 hours on the road.My ave speed for the first leg was 27km, then it dropped to 24Finished off with a 25km ave.
