Ja het vandag gesien! Ek troos my daaraan dat dit seker beter is om in 10 grade fiets te ry as in 40....

Just a quick question, I see the "rider briefing" advise us to pick up our lights at Checkpoint 2 which is about 90km into the race. So if you average about 20km/h you will get there way before lunchtime, meaning you will carry your lights with you for most of the day.

How did most of the riders organise this in the past? I guess I can ask my wife/"support crew" to give it to me at Spectator Point 3 but then I need to be pretty certain she is going to pitch on time. :whistling:

See the website changed, Boxes now at Checkpoint 1 & 3, not 2 & 4. Makes much more sense to get lights at 3 not 2. (First box at 48km will be a bit of a waste though...)

Not sure whether website or Rider briefing is right re the boxes. I would prefer to have boxes at checkpoints 2 and 4 (at checkpoints where there is no support crew to help). Anyway, I suggest we confirm this at registration. See you guys out there on Saturday!

Makes sense, only problem that for those without support crew is that you either ride with your light since lunchtime or need to back yourself to get to the top of Ouberg before its dark.

I missed the race registration last night due to work commitments, so guess I will have to pop in to Ceres Cycles to collect my number and boxes on Friday.

Apart from picking up your number and boxes - was there any info or detail that is not on the web site?

I use Freemeteo and according to their site the wind will be kind - until we are on the plateau. There things might become uncomfortable according to that crystal ball.

Supporters may meet riders at CP1 and CP3

And boxes will be delivered to CP 2 and CP4

On the website is was stated different

And there will only be water at the point at the base of Ouberg pass.

Thanks. I was wondering about the box locations as there seemed to be some confusion there. CP2&4 suits me better as I will have a support vehicle full of EPO (Extremely Potent Oros).

Teoreties in elk geval. So moet ek dan warmer aantrek as normaal?

MOenie te warm aan trek nie. Verlede jaar by die begin was die 0 grade. Trek toe lekker warm aan en binne 10km moes ons stop sodat ek lae klere kon uit trek. Liggaam het heeltemal overheat. Kry liewer so bietjie koud in die begin.
