Not what to buy, but WHERE to buy?

Hi,

 

I am relatively new to mountain biking. I have read several threads on your forum and I am almost more confused than when I started. I am looking a hard-tail MTB between R11k and R18k. Carbon frame with downgraded group set or Alloy frame with good group set is currently on the cards. Any ideas?

 

Apart from deciding on a bike, the other problem is WHERE to buy in the Gauteng area? Who can give good advice and have reasonable prices? I don't mind shopping on-line, but being a little confused, I would like to go and talk to someone and hopefully buy at the same time.

This probably isn't the answer you want to hear but, honestly, just go from LBS to LBS and reward whichever store is willing to spend the most time with you and offer you the best service. Cycle Lab has a big, shiney new store and they'll be eager to please.

Groupset,fork are your big cost stuff maximise that and upgrade frame later now is good timing for either a new buy ir secondhand noting 2014 models a hitting the shops

I'd say:

Jhb - Westdene or Linden

Midrand/Centurion - Summit cycles or Epic sports

Pta- Hotspot or Hatfield cycles.
