Calibrated this morning and it gave me a reading of 0, so it should be good.

However, I rode up Northcliff this morning and over a 6 minute segment, my NP was 13W lower than my mate who has a quarq on his bike. This was unexpected as he weighs 2kg less than me and my bike is probably around 2kg more than his (was on the gravel bike). Therefore, I would expect my power to have been greater with the additional weight and larger tyres.

I also get the "feeling" that the readings are lower when compared to my Quarq on my road bike.

If you wish to bring the hub to us for calibration we can do this, it costs R250.00.

All powertap hubs have active Temp compensation. this means that every time you freewheel for longer than 30s the hub will auto zero and adjust for any temp drift.

Our pedals also offer this function.

There you go, you answered my question regarding the auto zero - thank you.

I only recently purchased the hub from you, so I think I should play around with it a little more before having it re-calibrated.

for this comparison I would’ve used average power instead of NP. Also surely there would be other factors that could influence the difference in power? The fact that you got Zero on calibration I reckon all is good.
