No dilemma, just use your new one and take a few weeks to get used to it. Let your legs do the thinking... :P

Is your new group set crank 52/36

What rear cassette ratio's do you have?

Find an online gear ratio comparison and compare what you had to what you have, maybe its not as bad as you suspect.

If you decide to change to compact, let me know. At the right price, I may take the 52/36 off your hands.

i was thinking of the 11/28 cassette - its ultegra 2012

The 52X36 with the 11-28 will get you up almost anything.

i am a very heavy dude. need those light gears to get to the top of hills.

i think i am going to try out the standard crank with a 11/28 cassette and see how i manage

thanks

Good idea then.

Windmill your way to the top.

Keep in mind (ask your LBS or maybe someone here that knows for sure will respond to this) that you MIGHT need to change your rear derailleur if you go to a larger cassette (28T) than what is on the bike now
