Good afternoon all. Am brand new at this forum and still relatively new in cycling and not veven sure if thsi is the correct forum. I have a question that may seem stupid to some but please bare with me. When using a helmet mounted light where do you store the battery? I found out that putting it in a back pocket of a shirt is no gaurantee of anything as I went over the handlebars this weekend and landed on my back. Having a battery there could have done more damage than the current damage done to my pride. :cursing:

Some people use a Camelbak, but I prefer my light on my handlebar and the battery pack duct taped to me top tube.

The extra weight on my head irritates the hell out of me especially when riding on rocky terrain . I also see better with the light on my handlebar. Only ride with a small and light Led Lenser H7, I think, on my helmet.

Light goes on the handlebar, and the battery pack on the seat post or top tube.

If you feel the need to have to have light wher you look, rather get a smaller headlamp wich does not require an external battery pack.

If light is on handle bar, I use an extra bottle cage to keep battery in place. Velcro straps fits nicely through holes in bottle cage, battery is to some extent protected and completly out of the way.
