Light for night rides mtb

Im interested in doing the Modders night races.

Anyone want to recommend a light which does the trick?

What is important? A focused beam or a broad spread?

I see products advertised from 80 lumens to 800 lumens...when is it enough?

Which products does have a battery pack that can fit in your bottle cage?

Hopefully I can find a light that wont cost R5000.

www.extremelights.co.za (i think they have some ads running in the classifieds here.) - i've used teh 1200 and 1800, both under R1k and they work great. The battery pack comes with velcro that you can strap to your cross bar.

I bought a Niteye B10 from Extreme Lights - it does the job and is a quality product. I wouldn't go less than 600 lumens though.

Extreme Lights... I ride mine ALWAYS! Road and MTB. With 3/4 settings for intensity, it's fantastic.

If you're worried about singletrack / trails, buy 2, one for your handlebar, and one for your helmet!

Extreme Lights is the way to go...

Got the 1800 lumens and cars coming from the front actually "brights" me....and when I pass them they almost break their necks....

Brilliant light I must say.

Thanks Extreme Lights
