PURE Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I got a fox float 32 factory shock and according to the fox site every 100 hours of riding it needs to be serviced. I have clocked up over 100 hours on it in the last 6 months, mainly riding the spruit, north farms and modders and lots of road thrown in. Do I need to service the fork as often as fox recommends based on the areas I'm riding ? How often do you service your fork ?

TopFuel Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Absolutely, you must service a Fox fork regularly. Even if the stanchion above the seal looks fine, if you have a worn seal and dirt gets in, the stanchion below the seal can get scuffed and ruined. Rather spend the cash servicing the fork now, to save yourself cash outflow in the future. Big Wheel Cycles 1
Catatonic_Joe Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 On the topic of Fox fork servicing, I used to take my fork to Johan Bornman, his prices were great and he used the service the fork at his workshop in Northcliff. Can anybody recommend where else to service Fox forks in JHB now that Johan is no more at Yellow Saddle Cycles. Most of the retailers I take my fork to say that they will have to send the fork to Fox agents in CT to get it serviced, Johan used to have my fork done in 1 -2 days.

Big Wheel Cycles Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 If you ride regularly, then every 6 months the dust seals need to be replaced along with the oil. Easy job if you have a few spanners and can refer to YouTube.
