Specialized shock service prices

R1500 per shock, so it was R3000 for the two. How complicated is it to service and how long does it take.

Not even my land rover costs that much to run. And that's saying something SPECIALIZED.

They have a monopoly on servicing these and that makes me feel uncomfortable and the competition commission too.....

You could always have an uncertified mechanic service for you and then lose your warranty on it I suppose.

I am not saying that R3k is cheap! But it also depends on what was done. I have seen guys ride their equipment into the ground and a service costing them R7k... And that was a Fox Talas...

No "monopoly", they just have a standard that they perform to and don't compromise.

Yes it is expensive to service. But even the good old US of A I think it is USD150 a shock.

The reason your Landy is cheaper to service is because it is basically a Tata :whistling:

Dont worry, both mine and the missus' bikes need to go for their 50hr next week.

As far as I know the brain shock service is R1500, they do not service it themselves, they send it away and get another one. Aparently they have so many shocks to service, they will never be able to them in house in the time frame of a week.

Scuzzy, I worked for the previous importer of Specialized and know the guy who moved over when Specialized took over. It is in house work down in Stellenbosch. They are pedantic about their work.

Now we are speaking about it, my shock needs a service.
