Thought I'll wake up the second BL bunch on the drag to Maropeng so we can catch the first group only to get dropped when they woke up. Oh well, at least they caught the first group. Third group (now the second group) caught me and I rode with them for a while but they left me behind going down into Muldersdrift. We stayed in visual contact with the first group but could never catch them :(

I finished in 3:04 flat. That surge up to Maropeng cost me my sub 3, but no complaints. All part of life!

GaryvdM did a lot of work in that second group. Well done to him!

Ah yes. You were riding a Specialized bike.

I was in Cresta Wheelers kit. Black BMC.

Yip thats me. To be honest, I was so tired most of the way I didnt read kits. What colour was it? Only BMC I remeber was the dude that lead the group most of the way. Shame, earlier on before the group formed, just me and him went over the first climbs together, and everytime I tried to help drag, he thought I was attacking and just went faster.....

Colours - mostly white, with yellow, pink, and purple. Photo on https://crestawheelers.co.za/ will give you a better idea.

AHA, it was me and you that went over the first few climbs together, you were attacking like mad that first bit! Think I still tried to slow you down a bit and suggested we form a train before the flat section started. You rode like a champ and paced the group all the way! Nice one!

what a bad luck race again. started in AL, managed to keep with the top oakes untill we came down sterkies my spoke blew. stopped, did a temp fix caught second batch of al rides. worked nicely on a rotation system for 50 km till the oakes started attacking, but if you attacked you will hate me(on the green evad bike) cause I chased every single one of you down, only to have a second spoke blow on the t junction to the n14, 2:54 not bad considering I had to stop twice and lost 2 spokes

No one caught the first group of BL, they finished 3 men if I'm right, I went with them on the first hill, sadly blew up 2:30h in, I was only caught by the other BLs 1km from the finish

Good ride, and good weather luckily!
