As a first time builder I'd recommend you get a bike shop to put in the BB and headset.

If you get those wrong you can easily ruin the frame and that will be an expensive mistake.

Will definitely do that, thanks

Park Tools has a bok called The Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repairs. The 3rd Edition is the latest at the moment. Most decent bike shops should have it.

This book will help you with all beginner to fairly moderate bicycle repair/build related tasks.

Alternatively, the park tools website has tons of "how to" info.

Inspiring me to take on a project! I see Inbred On-One SS LTD frames on sale for $185.38... Hoping the Rand claws it's way back when payday strikes

Hi Gary.

A self build is very do-able and very satisfying.

Keep one thing in mind,

If you do not know much currently, it might be a very costly exercise in the mid term run.

I say mid term with a reason,

Sort term, you are making this investment now,

Mid term, you might find with time that there are some other / different / better components you like more.

Long term, cycling will always cost R, as you need to upkeep and service as required.

Building a bike with YOUR specs is a very satisfying project to attempt.

Happy building
