Get Gordon Ramsay to go in there and sort them out...

Doesnt have to be a kitchen for him to sort out messy places....

Besides would make for entertaining TV for a change....

Nah, I am not naming them. Don't want to shame them. Just want them to improve the shop. I don't like digging around in a box looking for tyres...

And it seems that this is happening at many small LBS.

And I don't have the time to go and organise the shop for them. They are 4 guys - surely their health allows them to do it themselves.

The place has enormous potential, but then again, changing people are a fruitless endeavour.

I do not know, maybe I will go to the owner. Don't want to approach this in a juvenile manner.

Weirdly, I find something quite interesting in having to dig in boxes for parts. It's like a big old treasure trove. My friend has a bike shop - it started off all designer and neat, 'till some **** put muddy shoes on the chair, and then more bikes started coming in than the shop had space for and people didn't collect them in time, and then a whole stack of spares came in from another defunct bike shop, etc etc. In truth though, I think it's maybe just 'cos the owner prefers riding to mucking about with dusty stuff in his spare time.

I do that at my local Cajees. They have boxes of nearly new bits that they take off when they fit new stuff to people's bikes. I've found some good stuff there.
