Best bike-shop for a total newbie in Jozi?

Hi guys...so, I know a young girl who wants to start riding, nothing serious but just wants to get a bike and start pedaling around her complex. She is in the Randburg area, which shop would offer her the best service, prices and some honest advice? Any advice would be welcome...

Westdene Cycles have the best prices in JHB in my experience. For service and honest advice, I don't really know, I've had good experience with Solomon's and Northcliff Cycles.

 

Not really sure which is best from a complete beginner's point of view.

I have had good experiences with Linden cycles. They are generally honest and not just trying to rip you off...like Cajees.

 

They also often have pretty decent second hand deals...

Quite a few bike shop owners participate on the hub. Wyatt Earp has a bike shop in the big smoke not so?

solomons cycles in woodmead always have excellent deals and at great prices! what was nice about them in particular i gave them my price range and that did not have anything on the floor but within 3 hours they called me to inform they sourced a number cycles in my price range... otherwise westdene cycles is always pretty solid

For an absolute newby, good advice is much more important than an extra R50 offthe price.

 

I'd stay away from solomons, Westdene, etc. Look for a owner run shop and build a relationship.

 

Pm Wyatt Earp on the hub and ask his advice. If he can't help, he'll tell ypu who to go and see.
