Does anybody now where to enter kids in the 94.7 kiddies ride.  Would like my daughter to have a go at it with her little 3 wheel indestructable black scooter smiley2.gif.  Had a look on the 94.7 website yesterday when I entered myself but not see anything.

I enjoy the kiddy ride, I generally take my brothers little girl along and jog around behind her, I am not sure of the age limits but she is 6 if that helps?

Hehe... I heard they have to be 2 years and older... just want to confirm, cause my sons turning 2 in October and I wanna see if I can enter him. Do they get medals at the end? What is the prize money for first place? smiley15.gif

yeah the little little kiddies one is up to 6yrs of age and then there is the slightly older one for 6-10yrs i think, which goes around the actual track!

the entries normally open two weeks before the actual event!

i love to wacth the kiddies race! its great fun to see the pure grit and determination on their faces, tongue hanging out, giving 110% all the time!

and purely just for the fun of it! thats what cycling is about hey?

What age does your kid have to be to take part in this?

There are a few races, u can do a 947m for the real youngsters, and 4,97km (once around the track) for the kids a little older.

So i think he could do the 947m.

You are going to have to beat me Jason smiley2.gifsmiley15.gif

I think they get medals

I wanted to enter the kiddies race, but they reckon I'm 30odd years to old.

Last year the entry fee was R 30 and the received a tog bag, sweets and chips. on race day there were colddrinks, icecream, strawberries and lots more. Unfortunately my daughter had a crash on the second lap around kyalami last year, so I'm not sure if they will do it agin this year. Dad is to nervous.

The kids catergories are (from what i remember):

Ages 2-6: 947 M (around the Go-cart track with parents)

Ages 7 and older: 1 to 2 laps of main track without parents

Did the 947 with my 2 year old daughter 2 years ago. She raced for 100m and then decided she had had enough. She didn't want pushing.. so I carried plastic motorbike and daughter for the rest of the race. Came about 5th last, haha, she can only impove from here.
