And the fact that NeilPryde have been using Alize since at least 2010?

Valid, but the date of registration of the various trade marks also plays a role

Yep - but why wait at least 4 years until complaining? I heard (not verifiable, unfortunately) that NeilPryde have been using the name for much longer...

I just LOVE the way they managed to get their logo into the frame paintwork, not sure why they didn't continue with it?

oh, i know this is off topic, but allow me to show you why the brand is so awesome(i really do need one of their bikes).

this is Jason Polakow taking on Jaws. He's got his own brand within the NP stable(or something like that). Would love to see this oke shred a downhill bike with kahunas like this, it's very hard to like an aussie but we can all make exceptions.

oh, and the Neil Pryde RS:X is going to be the windsurfer class for the Rio olympics again.

Seems amazing a company like that should take **** from a cr@ppy little outfit like SSpecialized...

IMo the Neil Pryde brand is better established and represents great integrity than SSpeciliased ever could be.

If I should ever ride the Epic again I will need to screen potential team mates to ensure they're not SS

Also valid :-)

I do however not know why wait so long. There may be endless reasons. Foreign IP law is somewhat different, I am still looking for a more detailed article on this. Anyone?

The SS took a conscious decision in 2012 to go after anything that could potentially confuse their branded product with something else.

the only similarity between a Allez and an Alize is that they both start with Al...

I gues to an American that is enought to confuse.

For the rest of the English speaking world its obvious there is no confusion.

Even asked a Chinese neighbour the other day about whether this would be confusing

"no a fluck, wo word velly diflent! he exclaimed. "Chinaman speak velly velly goo Ingrish you knaw!"

I believe him

yet SS sees it differently. So would you trust a compnay that cannot tell the difference between words to be designing your bike?

But you have to admit SSpecialized are making a good job of it!

What about the Specialized Toupe (an advert in the classifieds reminded me) - surely wigmakers everywhere should be quaking in their boots!
